Dr. Andrew Jacono Earns Top Facelift Surgeon Honors
Newsweek’s 2025 rankings placed Dr. Andrew Jacono third among facelift surgeons in the United States, a distinction that sits alongside a growing list of honors spanning both his surgical technique and his volunteer work. Harper’s Bazaar separately named him one of the 24 best plastic surgeons nationwide, recognition that reflects nearly three decades of practice in Manhattan and Great Neck, New York.
Awards for Compassion Beyond the Operating Room
Professional rankings tell only part of the story. A decade-long streak stands out just as clearly on Dr. Jacono’s resume the Most Compassionate Doctor Award, given to him in each of the eleven years spanning 2012 to 2022, a distinction reserved for a small slice of physicians nationwide, fewer than 3 in 100. That streak traces to his humanitarian surgical work, which includes more than 750 procedures on children with cleft lips and palates through Healing the Children, along with reconstructive surgery for more than 100 survivors of domestic violence through the FACE-TO-FACE program, featured on the Oprah Winfrey Network series Facing Trauma.
The Technique Behind the Recognition
The surgical rankings trace back to a procedure he built from scratch, the Minimal Access Deep-Plane Extended facelift, which lifts skin, muscle, and fat as one connected layer rather than stretching skin on its own. Town & Country described the results as patients who “look like refreshed versions of themselves,” an outcome that has attracted patients including fashion designer Marc Jacobs and fellow surgeon Dr. Paul Nassif.
None of the recognition arrived without years of foundational training. Dr. Jacono earned his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1996, completed a residency in otolaryngology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and finished a fellowship accredited by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, where he now serves as Fellowship Director.
