Ben Roethlisberger: A Fantastic Athlete and Generous with Giving Back to Society

While Ben Roethlisberger is best known for his achievements as quarterback in the NFL for the Pittsburgh Steelers, this remarkable individual has done a great deal to help society. He grew up loving to play sports, and excelled in several of them including baseball and football. He set several records in high school and college.

He married Ashley Harlan in 2011. Their first child, a son, was born on Thanksgiving Day in 2012. In 2013 the couple welcomed their daughter. He has admitted being a father has helped him see the world differently, especially the value of family support and education. The couple added a third child to their growing family in 2016.

His kind nature and generous heart led Ben Roethlisberger to give back to society in large ways. He is philanthropist, and has made the wishes of many people come true. Some just wanted to meet him and others dreamed of attending an NFL game. Some of his ventures include camps for children, ensuring the get the opportunity to interact with their peers, be outdoors, and try various sports.

The Roethlisberger Family Foundation was established in 2007 and continued until 2020. The core of this foundation was promoting family first. He has always been thankful for the support of his parents and family, and understands not everyone has that. The foundation was a way to encourage others to put their family before work and all other factors in their life. A strong family shares values and gives each member a sense of purpose.

In 2021, he joined forces with Micah Tyler to provide food for the homeless around the Pittsburgh area. Their efforts are part of the goals with Light of Life Rescue Mission. He strongly believes everyone can make a difference, no matter what their background is.

Ben Roethlisberger, often referred to as Big Ben, retired from the NFL in 2022. He continues to be involved with numerous charities in Pittsburgh including Ronald McDonald House and Make a Wish Foundation. See this page for additional information.
