  1. About Marwan Kheireddine

The major areas of attention for Marwan Kheireddine were working in emerging economies and fostering economic growth through forming partnerships with investors. Kheireddines has a wide range of banking experience. He continued his career with the World Bank, managing the Middle East and North Africa region, after spending some time with the World Bank Group.   1. Al Mawarid Bank

Al-Mawarid Bank is the first in the Middle East to offer a proprietary debit card and internationally accepted Visa Card through a partnership with ISU Card Solutions GmbH. Now Al-Mawarid offers various debit cards, such as Gold, Platinum, Classic and Premium, all of which carry the Visa Debit logo. Aiming to “become the most convenient, reliable and secure bank in Lebanon .”The Bank’s transactional website allows its online customers to access their accounts from anywhere at any time.

  1. What Inspired Al Mawarid Bank?

Marwan Kheireddine was inspired by his father, who founded the Bank of Lebanon. Kheireddine said, “I thought it was a great idea to develop a payment card and debit card which customers can use at any place around the world without having to get money from their home country.” Kheireddine considers himself a risk-taker as he aims to make Al-Mawarid Bank into a bank that is easy to use.

  1. Accomplishments

BDL Magazine awarded Kheireddine the ‘Man of the Year for his work with Al-Mawarid Bank and for bringing financial services to the people of Lebanon. Kheireddine was also honored by the Lebanese American Bank for his ‘outstanding achievement and leadership. During his career, Kheireddine has been involved in other notable endeavors in Lebanon, such as the opening of Beirut’s International Financial District.

Marwan Kheireddine aims to make Al-Mawarid Bank the “most convenient and secure bank in the Middle East” by offering innovative banking services that are easy to use. Kheireddine is successful because he has brought new technologies and innovations to Lebanon.
