Kelcy Warren is the CEO of Energy Transfer Partners, one of the largest pipeline corporations in America. He is also a partner in the Dakota Access Pipeline and CEO of Sunoco Logistics Partners, which has recently merged with Energy Transfer Partners.
Kelcy Warren was born in Gladewater, Texas. It is a small town found on the eastern border of the state. He has three older brothers and grew up working with his father. As a gauger and a ditch digger, Warren’s father worked for Sun Oil. Even though his father only had a high school-level education, he was proud of his accomplishments.
Kelcy Warren said that his father was a humble and kind individual, but he never drove himself to succeed at much. Instead, he would usually just work and have fun. He would also spend time with his acquaintances, going to a local café or gathering with his friends at the high school football games. To Kelcy and his brothers, their dad was a remarkable human being.
Kelcy Warren’s mother worked in a department store for many years while he was growing up. She never finished high school, and her sons were the first in their families to pursue college educations. While Kelcy Warren and his brothers were growing up, their mother constantly pounded into their heads that they needed to further their educations. Kelcy Warren was raised in a small town where he felt he knew everyone in his community. Kelcy Warren was also involved with Boy Scout activities, and his mother served as his den leader.
While his father served as a school board president, his mother served as the president of the PTA when he was a high school student. Because of his parent’s involvement in school, he was able to have an advantage over other people.
