Kelcy Warren is the largest owner of private oil refineries in the United States. He is a former American football player who owns, operates, and manages the Dallas Cowboys. His net worth is 4 billion dollars.

He made his money from two separate companies: PetroAmerica Inc. and Linn Energy LLC (Linn Energy Acquisition Corp.). In 2014, Forbes ranked him as one of their world billionaires due to owning more than 50% stake in The Williams Companies, founded by Kelcy’s father-in-law H. Ross Perot Sr., who served as an independent candidate for President in 1992 and 1996.

Kelcy graduated from the University of Tulsa as a student-athlete. He was a member of their football team and was the MVP of the 1978 Senior Bowl.

In 1997, Kelcy Warren was an advisor at General American Energy Incorporated. Two years later, he became their President and CEO. In 2001, he became CEO of Williams Companies. One year later, Williams acquired SandRidge Energy for 4.4 billion dollars which Kelcy Warren took charge over as chairman and CEO in 2009 before resigning in 2014 due to the merger with Energy Transfer Partners, L.P.

Kelcy net worth comes from his earnings as chairman and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners L.P., based in Dallas, Texas. The company develops and operates natural gas, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil gathering, transmission, and midstream assets in North America. The company owns more than 61 thousand pipelines across the United States and Canada.

In 2010 Kelcy Warren got into a lawsuit with Larry Nichols. He sued him for 50 million dollars stating that he was misquoted by Warren in an interview regarding his book “The New Clinton’s War on Women.” Warren stated that Nichols was making false allegations about his wealth acquired through Energy Transfer Partners.

Kelcy gave 500 thousand dollars towards Senator Ted Cruz’s 2012 Senate campaign. That same year he also gave another 100 thousand dollars to Republican Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign.

He is a long supporter of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who was a 2016 candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. In March 2015, Kelcy Warren was listed as one of the top ten donors in the “Texas Team 100″” political action committees for Ted Cruz. Refer to this article to learn more.
