Top 40 Under 40 Greg Aziz

Greg Aziz is a Canadian businessman who is the CEO and President of Bombardier Transportation (NSC). This is a Canadian manufacturer, rebuilder, and repairer of railroad rolling stock. Business leader Aziz was born in London, Ontario, on April 30th, 1949. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.

 

Under his leadership, Bombardier Transportation has become a national railcar industry leader. Under Mr. Aziz’s leadership, the company has expanded its workforce to include university students, allowing for on-the-job experience and training. He also served as Chair of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and was named to the 2010 “Top 40 Under 40” list by “The Globe and Mail” (Canada). He also wrote a weekly opinion piece for the “Toronto Sun Newspaper.”

In addition later on in his outstanding career, the railroad industry leader sits on several boards, including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Toronto Region Board of Trade, and the University of Toronto Board Of Governors. Greg Aziz is a member of the Executive Committee and Past-President of the “Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters” (CME).

 

This is the perfect coalition of 12,000 manufacturers, exporters, and service suppliers. The business leader was appointed to a four-year term on the Council of Ontario Universities in November 2009, through which he serves as Chair of the COU’s Research and Innovation Committee. He has also served on the COU’s Industrial Advisory Committee since 2005. 

 

Bombardier Transportation was founded in 1912 by a group of investors, including Sir John Morison Gibson. Besides Wabtec Corporation, the company began as an automobile and truck repair shop that would serve Ontario’s rapidly growing automobile industry. It grew to be one of Canada’s largest fleet management companies.
