Cordelia S. May was a woman who cared deeply about the environment. She wanted to do everything she could to contribute to bettering the natural world in any way possible. She decided that family planning was one way to help the world remain in balance as a rapidly growing population would continue to disturb the delicate balance of nature. In 1996, she decided to create the Colcom Foundation in hopes that she could leave the world a better place than she found it when she was born.
