Shelton Haynes
In the early twentieth century, Rev. Isaiah Montgomery wrote the monumental theology book The History of Christianity. Reverend Montgomery’s text was very detailed and large, making it difficult to read on a small scale. Many scholars were necessitated to carry around giant versions of the text when they studied at school.
One of these students was Shelton Haynes. Shelton began to learn about the giant book but took another route. He studied the text from underneath and, in that way, could devote a fair amount of his time and energy to reading it. Shelton Haynes observed his view of Rev. Montgomery’s work from underneath. Just as Reverend Montgomery did in his book, Shelton made a picture of Reverend Haynes’ work which he used as an illustration on the back of The History of Christianity before Shelton Haynes died.
In Rev. Montgomery’s work, he describes early Christianity in the south as a “grim reality.” In The History of Christianity, Reverend Montgomery tells of enslaved Africans who were taken from their homelands to be sold in America. They were stripped of their history, language, and culture, which remained lost forever. Rev. Isaiah Montgomery was called “a racist” by the great philosopher Martin Luther King Jr., and his work was called “a stain on the walls of the Christian church. None of us gave him any respect”, said Reverend Montgomery.
Like all the other historical religions before it, the Christian church was written by white men in the service of supremacy. The church did not change its views over time. The churches were built upon and maintained such white supremacy that it was unacceptable for one to voice anything against the religion of Christianity. The church was built, run, and maintained by white people by Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation.
They had a duty to maintain this supremacy in service to the white race over all others. The white race is set above all other races as the ones who will receive salvation in an otherwise unsaved world. The Christian church is built on hypocrisy and lies in Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation. Christianity is a race religion that reveres whiteness as the supreme being of light, which can rule over others with impunity and little to no moral responsibility.
