Launch House Debuts House Capital-Its venture Arm.
Launch House, a membership community for emerging leaders, has announced the launch of its new venture capital arm, House Capital. With a multimillion-dollar fund at their disposal, co-founders Michael Houck, Brett Goldstein, and Jacob Peters are investing in pre-seed and seed-stage companies to further their mission of driving success through entrepreneur support. Not only will they support Launch House members with their investments, but they also plan to funnel returns back into the community to improve the overall membership experience.
House Capital has already made some impressive moves by partnering with names such as Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Paradigm, and Andreessen Horowitz to invest in female-founded companies such as Anja Health. This company provides personalized cord blood banking in partnership with Doctors, allowing parents to store stem cells from placental tissue and umbilical cords for possible future treatment of certain diseases. Founders like Anja Health’s Kathryn Cross receive a lifetime LH membership alongside their investment from House Capital which is aimed at strengthening the experience for everyone involved.
The Limited Partners (LPs) behind House Capital include well-known figures such as founders of Dropbox and YouTube alongside celebrities such as Serena Williams and Michael Ovitz, plus veterans from other VC funds such as Rick Yang and NFX’s James Currier, as well as partners from a16z like Andrew Chen and Sriram Krishnan. According to Peters, this group put them in an ideal position “to support and grow the next generation of inspiring founders.” They plan to keep flexible in their approach so that they can follow opportunities wherever they arise while keeping a close focus on Launch House members when possible.
The main objectives behind starting House Capital include providing fresh opportunities for existing LH members and helping entrepreneurs outside of the current circle succeed while balancing life away from business pursuits. The hope is that these goals can be achieved further by taking advantage of every opportunity provided through this venture capital arm, which can ultimately benefit everyone involved—investors included—in moving the world forward.
