Kelcy Warren

He is the Chairman, President, and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners, the parent company of pipeline operators Enbridge Inc. and Union Gas Ltd., and natural gas producer Eastern Natural Gas for which he serves as president. Warren brings over four decades of experience in construction, finance, and oilfield services to his role at ETP.

Kelcy Warren was born in 1955 in the small Texas town of Vernon. He has two siblings, a brother, and a sister. His father worked as an electrician at an energy company.

Kelcy Warren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. He was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity. Warren worked multiple jobs as a student to pay his way through school and to put himself through college. His college classmates say he is one of the hardest working people they were ever around, often staying up all night studying, working on projects, or meeting with professors or students.

Kelcy Warren is an accomplished senior executive and well-respected oil field services industry leader. He has been named one of the “Top Ten Most Powerful People in the Oil & Gas Industry” by Oil & Gas Financial Journal and was named to “Who’s Who in America” three other times.

  1. His Achievement

During his tenure at ETP, the company has expanded into five states and four countries. Its pipeline network has spanned the Lower 48 states, and its natural gas liquids and crude oil systems have expanded across North America, Canada, Europe, and South America. In September 2008, Enbridge and ETP announced a $300 million merger to create one of North America’s largest integrated energy companies.
