Greycoat Real Estate Reports London’s Most Expensive Home Purchase of 2023

Greycoat Real Estate announces London’s most expensive home sale of 2023. This, as Indian billionaire Adar Poonawalla finalizes purchase of Aberconway House – a 25,000 square-foot 1920s mansion near Hyde Park – from Dominika Kulczyk for £138m.

The eye-watering price also marks the second-most expensive home ever purchased in the Capital, Greycoat agency adds. The transaction ensures the posh Mayfair Mansion preserves its exclusive history as it changes hands between two well-endowed family dynasties. Kulczyk, the daughter of Poland’s wealthiest man Jan Kulczyk, saw Poonwalla as a highly motivated buyer with deep pockets.

Known as the “Vaccine Prince”, Poonwalla’s family owns Indian pharmaceutical giant Serum Institute of India, the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer. Poonwalla is the company’s CEO and the home was officially purchased by the business’s UK subsidiary Serum Life Sciences, stated sources close to the transaction. While the family has “no plans” to move to the UK permanently, the house will serve as a temporary residence for the family.

Also, for their business dealings whenever they visit London, according to the Financial Times. The second largest sale this year, Greycoat reports, was the £113m purchase of Hanover Lodge. The Regent Park Mansion was purchased by Essar Group billionaire Ravi Ruia’s family business, which is tied to Russian real estate mogul Andrey Goncharenko.

London’s most expensive all-time home sale is 2-8a Rutland Gate. The mansion was sold in January 2020 by the former Saudi Arabian crown prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz to Hui Ka Yan, the founder and chairman of Evergrande for a record £210m. And is all under the wing of Greycoat Real Estate Agency´s perfect working conditions within the property purchase market.
